Our last full day in Virginia we headed to the Washington DC zoo!
Avery (4 months) and Lydia (15 months)!
Eliza's favorite animal right now is a cheetah...and that was the first animal we saw! Though she was a little disappointed she didn't get to see it run!
My favorite part was the pandas!
All of a sudden, as we were watching the panda, and a man comes up behind us and announces he works at the zoo, he's going to throw a brown bag over the fence, and that it's ok because there is just a popsicle inside for the panda! That panda bee lined it for the bag, ripped it open, and made himself comfortable to eat his treat!
Eliza was convinced he was watching her the entire time.
Eliza, Elayna, Mitch, and Avery in front of the elephants.
Avery was a pretty popular animal to look at too...the only polar bear at the zoo!
This is as close as Eliza got to a dolphin...we'll have to make a trip to Sea World!
This lion was crazy! He all of a sudden got up and started "roaring." I thought it sounded more like he was hacking up a hair ball but it was so surreal to hear him! We swear Darran has some strange affect on lions...we've never seen them so active unless he's with us!
Traveling is tough...but she's a trooper!
We did a LOT of walking but we sure had a great time!
Thanks Mitch and Elayna for hosting us for a few days! Spending time with family is the best way to spend a spring break! We love and miss you so much!
