Family pictures

I thought I would post some of the pictures we had taken with Eliza when she was 6 weeks old. Now that she is 10 weeks I feel like she looks and acts so much older! Time is going by way too fast!!!

Aunt Audrey's visit!

Aunt Audrey came to visit us! She braved the weather and left sunny Arizona to stay with us from Wednesday night to Sunday morning. We had a really great time with her.
She introduced Eliza to her first music video. Not sure that's the most appropriate thing for a 2 month old to watch! But we're hoping she just liked it so much because of the music and flashing lights!

Thursday

We decided to carve pumpkins while Audrey was here!
Hague tradition has always been to line up our finished pumpkins on the stairs and sit next to them for a picture...so here we are. Eliza even had a pumpkin...that she can have year round!

Friday

Friday night we had a bonfire at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was perfect weather! Eliza got to experience her first fire for a little while.
We roasted marshmallows and made smores...yummy!
Grandma even watched Eliza earlier in the day so that Audrey and I could sneak away to the movies. We had to laugh though because we couldn't have picked a more traumatic first movie after giving birth for me to see. We saw The Duchess (which I DO NOT recommend to anyone, that's why I will spoil part of it). The Duchess had an affair and had to give her baby daughter away. So naturally I was balling as this was happening. Audrey is used to that...she knows what a cry baby I am during sad movies. But the worst part was as they were walking away from her with the baby she stops them and says "tell him her name is Eliza!" I'm pretty sure I let out an audible sob in the theater and Audrey was seriously wondering why she agreed to go to the movies with me!

Saturday

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather after listening to the BYU game. We were in good moods after a successful win! So we grabbed some Subway and headed to Columbia River Park. Eliza experienced her first picnic...though she slept through part of it!
Eliza cheered on Grandpa, Audrey, and Dad as they skipped rocks. I joined in later but I believe that's when she started to cry because she saw how pathetic mom was at skipping rocks!
Andy and Dallin...you now have more competition...Darran was making it a challenge for Dad!
Columbia Park really is picturesque. After our walk we went home to have dinner with Great Grandpa and Grandma Hague after their temple session. We had a nice dinner and visit with them.
We then had to end the night with some "friendly" competition. We played girls against boys beach volleyball on the Wii. Audrey and I won...so then they had to challenge us to a different game. We tried our hand at curling of all games and ended up really liking it! Audrey and I decided to "let the boys win" at the last minute!
Thanks for visiting Aunt Audrey! We had a great time and we love you so much!!!!

Sweet daughter...

We had to take this picture to show Aunt Elayna and Grandpa and Grandma how cute Eliza is in her little sweater since they were the ones that gave it to her. The other picture is Eliza "holding" her doll!

Grandma's Birthday!

My Grandma Hague turned 80 this month and to celebrate her children and their spouses all came for a weekend to surprise her (only two weren't able to come)! We are lucky enough to live close to them so we were able to participate too. Friday night we had a get together at Aunt Sheila's and made Grandma "speechless" with her surprise! Saturday everyone did a session in the temple and then I joined them for sealings that Grandpa performed. What a neat experience! Then we gathered at mom and dad's for dinner and visiting. Sunday we went up to Yakima for church with everyone, lunch, and some more visiting. It was great to see my aunts and uncles and very fun showing off Eliza! Happy Birthday Great Grandma Hague!

Named Moody for a reason!

The last name of Moody seems to have meaning in some cases. These are a couple different moods that Eliza is showing us...all within a few flashes of the camera of course. We call his one sweet...
this is shock...
this is happy...
and this is shy...ahhhh, dad, stop taking pictures of me! We can't complain though...if her moods stay like these ones we'll continue to be pretty happy parents!

Daddy daughter time!

Darran got to spend some time alone with Eliza on Sunday while I was visiting teaching. He wanted to make sure that I saw proof of the smiles he was able to get. I'd say he did a pretty job...this is our favorite. The wide mouth smile. She's a pretty happy baby!

Green thumb...

Darran is turning into quite the gardner! We planted tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries in these big pots this year. That's about as far as I can go with using the pronoun "we" because Darran was the one that took care of them. I got him to agree to use the pots so that we could "try it out." I wasn't too excited about tearing up our beautiful grass to have a garden. But I think Darran might win that argument for next year!

We added some more flowers to our yard this year too. We loved the dahlias we had on one side of the house so we tried them on the other side. They turned out nice and pretty. This picture doesn't do justice to how many flowers it would actually produce. To the far right is one of our favorite plants...Darran gave me a mini rose plant for Valentine's Day before we got married. So that is coming on four years ago. Every year it just explodes with mini roses. We love it. We also planted begonias between the dahlias. We waited and waited and waited...and when one finally came up we realized that we had planted them upside down. We're still learning!

Life with Eliza...

Never too early...Eliza and I got out some books to read together. I was very proud of her for sitting with me and looking at the book while I read it...Eric Carle does a good job!
We were attempting to get a picture of the big smiles that she has been giving us lately. This was our best one. The camera just doesn't work fast enough for when those big smiles come!
So sweet and content. She is loving the time she gets to spend stretching out on the floor or laying on her tummy.
No matter what I do Eliza always ends up with her head down to one side or the other when she is in her swing. I'm sure it looks way more uncomfortable to me then it actually feels to her. But I won't complain too much because she tends to sleep really well in it.

BYU loyals...

Since we got the BYU football game on TV Friday night, Eliza and I decided to show Dad our spirit and put on our school paraphernalia. Dad was so proud he even had to change and put on his BYU T-shirt to match. Even with all the excitement, Eliza found a way to sleep through it with the "Touch Down" signal on her mind.

Frog legs!

We might regret this later...but Eliza loves to be on her stomach so Darran is taking the "opportunity" to help her learn quickly. She moves her legs like a little frog. If we put our hands on them she'll push away and move herself up the blanket. It's pretty cute. But when she starts crawling we'll probably look back on this and think those were the easy times!

Future soccer player

Aunt Elayna would be proud of Eliza already practicing her soccer skills. She's becoming quite active and loves to move her arms and legs like crazy. In fact, we can't "swaddle" her arms in her blankets anymore...she will pull them right out! She loves to move!

Faithful fan...

We had to laugh when we heard on the radio the other day that it's hard to be a Seattle sports fan right now. We had to agree...the Seahawks, the Mariners, and loosing the Supersonics. Not much to cheer for! Even with all that, there's nothing like attending a baseball game in person. Darran went to a Mariners game against the Angels on September 24th with his brothers Chris and Dean and co-worker Dale. They were there for a monumental game...the Mariner's 100th loss. Ok...so probably not the record breaking game you want to attend but Darran still loves it and is a faithful fan. Plus, they had awesome seats. The pictures he took are from his seat...who could complain about that view? Not to mention all the food they want. I was at my parents house when he was at the game so we decided to turn on the tv, thinking maybe we could find him in the crowd. About two minutes after turning on the tv Vladimir Guerrero hit the ball down the foul line so the umpires decided to review it. They ran right past where Darran was sitting! So there he was right on tv! I called him really fast to tell him he was on tv and then they showed him again and he was talking to me on his phone! It was hilarious! We saw him a couple of times after that too. We'll stay fans for a long time...we just hope things improve next season. (But I think we've said that before!)

Bath time again...

We just can't resist taking pictures of Eliza at bathtime! She just loves it so much...and we love it because she is so cuddly and smells so good!
