Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
We started Halloween night by trick or treating at Nana and Papa's house!
Here they are...Elsa, Anna, and Olaf.  It wouldn't have worked out to be anything else in our house this year!

Then we headed to church for our ward's trunk of treat.  After that we went trick or treating over at Grandpa and Grandma's house.
The anticipation of what Grandpa was going to be dressed up was almost too much for Talia to handle!  And he didn't disappoint!
Anna, Elsa, Olaf and Pirate Grandpa!
When we got home Darran took the girls around to a few houses in our neighborhood.  There was not a lack of candy in our house that night!  And I've decided that I LOVE having Halloween on a Friday night...perfect!
Happy Halloween!

Carving pumpkins...

We carved pumpkins the night before Halloween.  It's pretty fun carving the pumpkins straight out of your garden!

Talia's pumpkin is a good old fashioned jack-o-lantern face, Eliza chose Ariel, and Darran carved a Disney World turkey leg!

They looked pretty good all lit up!
Halloween here we come!

BYU/Boise game...

We decided to go to the BYU/Boise game towards the beginning of the season.  And I suppose because we are loyal fans we still went...despite the turn the season has taken!
 Infamous blue turf!
We took Lydia with us while the girls stayed with Aunt Julie and Grandpa and Grandma.  We went to Boise on Friday, went to the game, stayed the night, did a little shopping the next morning, and then headed home.
We had a good time even though the score wasn't proof of that!  Lydia was a perfect baby the whole time and the girls had a blast with Grandpa and Grandma.  It was a quick trip but we're glad we had the opportunity to go!

Trips to the pumpkin patch...

Eliza's class had a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch.  Brought back a few memories to me of when I took my first grade class on the same field trip.
 She picked out her pumpkin!
Climbed the straw pyramid.  They were going to eat lunch there too but it was a pretty rainy day so they headed back to school to eat in a dry place!
 Eliza's first grade class.

Then we went to a different pumpkin patch with Talia's preschool group (and a few more friends).
 Learning about pumpkins.
They thought the Minion made out of straw was hilarious.
 Climbing the straw pyramid.
Brayden and Talia with their pumpkins.
Pumpkins patches are so much fun!

Sleeping strangely...

I know this might look strange but it was about time I recorded this.  Lydia sleeps with a blanket on her face a lot (scares me silly).  I often remove it and by the time I leave her room it's usually put right back on her face.  Though this is a little more turban style for her.  Most times it's just laying straight across her face.

And then you'll notice the leg position.  She sleeps comfortably holding on to both feet.  And then sometimes lets go of one foot but still holds the other.  I dare anyone to try and sleep like that!

The girls made forts behind the couches one day.

We started the process of clearing out the garden.  This summer we canned two batches of home grown tomatoes!  We probably could have done even more had we been home a little bit more over the summer!  We had our best crop of onions too.

And this girl likes to eat!

Outside and teeth...

We went outside to swing one beautiful day in September.
Lydia has liked the swing a little more each time...though she doesn't want to stay in it too long.  Which is the complete opposite of Eliza...when she was little she could have been pushed for hours!

Talia was very proud of the wind vane she made at preschool.  We hung it up outside to see it blow in the wind.  And since that happens often here we kept it out there until we were picking up pieces from it all over the backyard!
And this was my attempt at getting a picture of Lydia's 2 top teeth coming in at the same time.  Really it was more like 4...because each tooth on the side of the front teeth started to push through about the same time.

Happy Birthday Talia!

Talia turned 4 on September 13th.  We had a family party in her honor!
(I just noticed Lydia in the left bottom corner...hilarious.)
She chose pizza for dinner (in her words "not the kind you make mom, that takes too long") and cupcakes.

 The happy birthday girl!
 Always part of the action!

Showing Brayden her new tiara piggy bank.
Sisters Elsa and Anna were reunited...now they each had the dress up they asked for.  Perfect timing for Halloween!
We love you Talia!  You are such a smart, loving, always singing, energetic daughter!
Happy Birthday!

Hero Up!

The highlight of September for us is going to Portland to participate in the Hero Up 5k/Half Marathon.  This race is organized by my amazing cousin Darcee in honor of her sweet Keith.  We pretended to be in shape this year and participated in the 5k!

Lydia and Talia were troopers and let me push them in the stroller the whole way!
Eliza waiting at the finish line.

The girls love to participate in the kids race too.  Brent looks like the Hulk and Flash combined in one in this picture!
We get to dress up as Super Heroes for the race...so fun!  Eliza and Talia wore their BYU shirts and their princess capes.  Brayden was Wolverine.

Eliza and Talia got to have their nails painted!

 Cousins with ice cream!

It's become such a great family weekend!  Here's to many more!
We love and miss you Keith!!!!
