Talia's story...

On Monday, September 13th, Darran accompanied me to my hopefully last doctor's visit. It did end up being my last (as a pregnant woman) since our doctor wanted to send us to the hospital as soon as we were done. I had a moment of panic...I'm completely ready but when the reality hits there seems to be hesitation. We told our doctor we wanted to at least go home and get our things, have something to eat, and tell our sweet Eliza what we were doing. So about 2 hours later we headed to the hospital. On the way I started to have little contractions. By the time a nurse got me all hooked up in the exam room the contractions became more consistent. The nurse wasn't convinced we would be staying but after about a half an hour she came back and said she was going to admit us. By then contractions were coming every couple of minutes.
So we moved into our room, had the epidural around 8:00pm, and Talia Brooke was born a couple hours later at 11:20pm.
She weighed 7 lbs. 2 ounces and was 19.25 inches long. She made more noise than Eliza did when she was born but we've since learned that she does NOT like being naked so she was apparently just making that known from the first moment!
Proud Grandmas! They were such a great help and what a wonderful blessing to have both of them with us!
Proud and happy parents...we're officially a family of four! Crazy!

Sweet sister Eliza...giving kisses to baby sister.
And reading her books.
I love when they wear beanies! Such a sweet baby!

So snugly! Welcome to the family Talia! We love you so much!

Sweet moments...

Just some random pictures of these sweet girls we call our daughters! Eliza just adores Talia. She would hold her and love her every moment if mom would let her!
I'm still almost daily amazed at how our little girl has become our big girl...and now we have another little girl! Time goes so fast!
Daddy trying to get a picture of Talia posing...soon enough Daddy, soon enough!
We love these little chicken legs! And they are constantly moving!
My favorite thing about changing Talia's diaper is Eliza always wants to keep her entertained by reading her a book. (I swear I did not teach her to hold the book like that...though the teacher in me is very proud!)

Eliza sang I am a Child of God to Talia when we were still in the hospital. It's one of her favorite songs so she was more than willing to share it with Talia!

Bath Time!

We love bath time!
Talia seems to enjoy having her hair washed and listening to the water...

but she isn't a fan of having to get undressed and be cold. And that's been evident from day 1!

There's nothing like snuggling with a clean smelling newborn!

Eliza quotables...

A good book can be read anywhere, right?
"Mom! Talia eyes on!"
When Talia wakes up her eyes turn on according to Eliza.

The other day we were outside playing in the backyard. Darran and I came in and Eliza followed a couple minutes later. Although when she got to the door she announced, "Guys, Eliza take off pants!" We looked to see that indeed she had taken off her pants...outside! In between laughter we asked her to go get them. Which she promptly did, went right upstairs, put them in the dirty clothes, and changed into a skirt. When she came back downstairs she was ready to eat dinner. Those are the moments where we wonder is she 2? or 14?

Two cute sisters!

We've been debating how much Talia looks like Eliza. There have been some moments where the memories of Eliza being this small come flooding back. Boy do the grow up fast!

One week old...

Talia has now been with us for a week...hard to believe we were in the hospital just seven short days ago. Things are going very well for us as we adjust to being a family of four! Upon closer examination of this picture I had to laugh...not only am I holding my two beautiful daughters but I also have the tv remote in hand ready to go. In my defense I believe we were going to watch Eliza's new Clifford movie that Talia gave her!
Eliza and Talia with their matching car pajamas...and of course with two of their most favorite people!
She has been a very good sleeper so far...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it continues!
Big sister Eliza getting some work done while Talia sleeps.
My attempt at taking a picture of her...the girl is always squirming around!

Talia Brooke Moody!

Talia Brooke Moody is here! She arrived on Monday night September 13th at 11:20 pm. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19.25 inches long. The delivery was a success and we're home safe and sound! Here are a few pictures to get us started...hopefully we'll post more soon! Proud mom and dad with baby Talia.
Eliza quickly showed Talia the joy of reading books.

We made it home and the first thing Eliza wanted to do was hold Talia! Such a good big sister!

Our lion cub...

One of Eliza's new phrases lately has been to say that things scare her. Well, needless to say we were a bit frightened this morning when we found her with a massive lion's mane on her head! As we put her to bed Saturday night we both commented that Sunday morning was going to be interesting hair wise. It always is when we bathe her and put her to bed with wet hair.
But this morning takes the cake. She even added a roar for good measure!

Last week of summer...

Before school started again we took advantage of the last week of summer and joined Dean, Sarah, the girls, and Nana and Papa up at the lake house for a few days. Bella, Eliza, and Darran getting in some good kayaking...it would appear this was just a joy ride for Darran!
Eliza loves the boat and could spend all summer on it! Too bad our summer this year came so late and is ending so early!
Alissa and Dean were the official fishermen of the week. They were catching fish after fish!
Dad and Darran took the kayak out for a spin too.
And Eliza was just as content as could be playing in the sand and playing with her cousins. She adores them and has such a great time with each of them. Thanks for a fun couple of days Moody cousins!

Birthday Girl!

This is how we found Eliza on her true birthday when Darran came home from work. She had a little bit of a runny nose so it was only appropriate that she had put her pajama pants on (by herself) over her shorts and was laying in mom and dad's bed (eating cereal). When you don't feel well you have to make yourself comfy right? Before Eliza turned 2 on the 23rd of August we had a little celebration with Grandpa, Grandma, and Aunt Elayna since they had to head down to Provo for school.
We had dinner and Eliza opened her presents...it was so fun to see how excited she got about each one.
In fact, it was hard to move on to opening another one when each one needed to be played with first!
After presents we went swimming for a while and then came home and had cupcakes. A dream night for the birthday girl!
On her actual birthday we had Papa and Nana come over for dinner and Eliza got to open more presents! Her friends Bailey and Mason came over for cake and she soaked up the birthday attention!
We just can't believe she's already 2! These last couple of years have flown by but we love our little Eliza! She brings such joy to our family with her smile and energy. We love you so much Eliza! Happy Birthday!
