Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Happy Birthday to the best daddy ever...we couldn't love and appreciate you more!
Disney gift card from Grandpa and Grandma...just in time!  He's excited!

We had treats and played games that night to celebrate!
Happy Birthday Daddy!  We love you!

Thanksgiving...

We love Thanksgiving!
Our veggie and relish trays before dinner...yum!

The girls helped make cornucopias to put on everyone's plate!
Dinner time with the Hagues!
Pie for dessert later!

And some games to round it off!
Such a fun day!
And of course our Thankful turkey.  We always have lots to be thankful for so we love this tradition through the month of November!  It's fun to see how big he gets!

Snow!

First snow of the season!

Pretty sure Lydia didn't know why she was putting snow in her mouth...but what sisters do, must be followed!

Christmas parade and letters to Santa...

Since we get to spend a good part of December at Disney World (we're counting down the days) we are trying to squeeze in as many holiday activities as we can.  So we went to the Mall for their Christmas parade to welcome Santa Claus and mail our Christmas lists!

Off go their letters...I don't think they have ever written them this early!

Eliza's list was front, back, and an additional paper taped to the bottom...wishing big is her strength!

Happy Halloween!

 Happy Halloween!
We're ready for the ward trunck-or-treat, neighborhood trick-or-treating, and a candy stop at Grandpa and Grandma's!
 Our BYU cheerleader!
 A cowgirl with her horse!
 And Sleeping Beauty!
Grandpa didn't tell the girls what he was dressing up to be...they were so excited to find out.  And who greeted us at the door?  Darth Vader!

 Happy Halloween Everyone!

Family pictures...

Family pictures taken the beginning of November...how do you stop time?
 Talia 5 years old.
 Eliza 7 years old.
Lydia 22 months.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this picture.
 Sassy-ness...period.

Love this family to pieces.
And of course Brittney Kluse did an amazing job!  Can't thank her enough!

Lydia's orthotics...

At Lydia's 1 year well check last December we expressed concern to her doctor about her not walking.  And by not walking I mean not even attempting to walk or pull herself up on anything.  In fact, she wasn't even crawling.  She would sit content on the floor and play with whatever was around her.  Her doctor was concerned by the fact that she had the ability to do those things she just wasn't.  So he recommended that she be evaluated by the Children's Developmental Center.  She qualified to receive weekly occupational therapy to work on her gross motor skills.
This is Lydia with her therapist Tawnya.  She comes to our house every Friday for a half hour and works with Lydia.  It took a long time for Lydia to decide she liked Tawnya...and now they're buddies.  Tawnya has helped Lydia crawl, go up and down stairs, pull herself up on things, and walk.  Truly, these were all skills that I never thought we would have to teach one of our babies...they just naturally do those things.  But this most likely is linked to her being born premature.
The latest step in this process has been for Lydia to start wearing ankle/foot orthotics or AFOs.  The AFO on her right side goes higher up her leg because of a lack of muscle tone.  She prefers to use the left side of her body so hopefully this will help her feel more secure on her right foot.  She's supposed to wear them as much as possible during the day.  But she's a firecracker and it didn't take long for her to figure out velcro is easy to take off!

Definitely they haven't slowed her down and I'm thankful for that.  Tawnya has been great to work with and a big help to Lydia.  Hopefully, we can continue on the slow road of improvement and keep this little girl playing hard!

Random photos...
One morning I came out of the shower and looked downstairs to find this.  Talia was waiting for a friend to come over so she was literally camped in front of the door in anticipation.  At least she had company...she was reading books to Lydia.  These two are becoming quite the buddies with Eliza gone to school.
Rarely a day goes by without someone sneaking my phone for a few selfies.  At least I joined in on these ones!
