I'm so glad when Daddy comes home...

The happy moment comes when Eliza hears the garage door opening...then daddy comes through the door, big smiles follow, then some "huggies," and usually the tickling war begins! It's the highlight of Eliza's day (and I should say mine too) when Daddy comes home. Eliza lives up those few hours before bedtime reading books and playing with Daddy. We love our Daddy!

On a rainy day...

Eliza knows what to do on a cold, rainy day. She finds a comfy place to sit, snuggles up in a soft blanket, and grabs a good book to read. Perfect! When I was teaching I always told my students that on a rainy day you would most likely be able to find Mrs. Moody on the couch, under a blanket, reading a book. So I can't imagine where Eliza ever would have come up with this idea? Monkey see, monkey do!

New doings...

It seems the faster that Eliza grows up the faster she is learning things...it's becoming a daily occurrence. Something that she has recently discovered is pockets. She has some pants and shirts with little pockets just big enough to put her hands in them. (We're still wondering why little kid's clothes have pockets but at least she uses them!) Eliza is also to the point where she is mimicking almost every word she hears. But for some reason she will not say I love you. Darran has been trying very hard to get her to say it but right now whenever we say I love you her response is to blow a kiss...which is pretty darn cute.
Such a big girl...
...and we just can't seem to get enough of her!

Do a little dance...

While this is not Eliza's best display of dance moves we still thought it was pretty funny. She's got quite the rhythm.

Something to drink?

Sometimes in the morning it's just too hard to make decisions...juice or milk?
We agree Eliza! We're cheering too since she's actually been drinking some milk lately. Persistence has finally paid off!

Happy Anniversary!

Darran and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary by getting away over the weekend...alone! We had such a nice time together we're tempted to do it again! Thank you to Grandpa and Grandma for having so much fun with Eliza while we were gone. She loves you guys so much! We can't believe how fast 5 years have gone but we sure are looking forward to many more in the future. Happy Anniversary!

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was our "best" picture from our traditional Valentine's family dinner. I'm surprised Eliza wasn't starring at the candy since that was the most exciting thing about dinner. She liked opening her Valentine's cards too...thanks Grandpa and Grandma and Nana and Papa. Hope everyone's Valentine's Day was full of love!

Cookies...

Around Valentine's Day we've had our fair share of treats in the house. Needless to say Eliza has been enjoying them. This is the look of satisfaction after a yummy cookie!

What happens in Vegas...

...doesn't have to stay in Vegas. Let's face it...we're just not that wild and crazy! Eliza and I accompanied Darran to Las Vegas last weekend for a conference he attended. Eliza and I had a good time relaxing, exploring the resort, and spending time between classes with Daddy. After a nice, relaxing bath Eliza decided she needed to watch a little bit of cartoons from bed. I couldn't deny her...heck, we were on vacation!
The resort had a bowling alley so we played a game while Eliza ate her nutritious snack of french fries!
Watching Daddy bowl.
Man, we love those eyes! We also spent Saturday morning with Darran's Aunt and Uncle who live outside Vegas. Then we even went to the BYU vs. UNLV basketball game (thanks to Dallan) before heading home. We didn't take any pictures though...probably because it was one of those games we don't really want to remember! But it was fun to see them live and feel the Cougar spirit!

Soccer skills...

This is so Aunt Elayna can see that Eliza's not wasting anytime working on her athletic skills...not that her dad has anything to do with that! We couldn't resist going outside today cause it was gorgeous!

Piano practice...

We got a piano for Christmas and it's safe to say that Eliza has had the most practice time on it. She quickly gets bored with the song that she is playing though so it's not uncommon to see her flipping through the book looking for that perfect song.

Here's to hoping she enjoys the piano just as much in a couple of years!

Choo! Choo!

Eliza has been enjoying Daddy's geotrax lately. I couldn't resist laughing at this picture. She precariously placed herself underneath and inside of the track so she could have the best spot to control the trains. Always the thinker...
